Emily Crook

Attention parents! Fellow neighbor seeks children ages 6-12, to participate in research study.

Hello Neighbors! My name is Emily Crook. I am an occupational therapy student at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a student researcher. Please take a minute to consider helping me out with my graduate research project. Details are below:

I am currently seeking child participants for a research study I am working on within the SUNY Downstate Occupational Therapy program.

What is the study?
It is a study of the test-retest reliability of the Child Occupational Self-Assessment (COSA).

What is the COSA?
An interview tool used by occupational therapists to develop treatment goals for children. It consists of 25 questions about how important certain activities are to the child and how competent they feel in doing those activities. By participating, you will help us determine if the COSA is a useful outcome measure that can be used when working with children.

How, where and when?
On two separate occasions, 1 to 2 weeks apart, children will do the COSA with the student researcher. This will occur in your own home or at SUNY Downstate Occupational Therapy Classroom. Each interview will take about 25 minutes to complete.

This study is approved by the Institutional Review Board of SUNY Downstate. Contact information for faculty supervisor will be provided.
