Another Busted Car Window

Nearly two months ago, signs went up on East 3rd Street that more than 15 cars had been broken into on a single block.

Commenters reported other car break-ins, then a neighbor spotted yet another.

Now today that same neighbor, Joel, reports his own car window was smashed. It happened on Prospect Avenue at Fuller Street sometime between 7:30pm Sunday and 1pm yesterday. He filed a report with the police.

Has this been ongoing? I'll let you know what I hear from the precinct, but an easy thing you can do to help prevent a break-in is to remove all valuables from the car, especially ones left out in the open, like a navigation system, any kind of package or bag, or even spare change. Of course, that doesn't always help, but it's worth doing anyway.
