Neighbor Anthony Vigorito has a new book of poetry out. "Clefs and Palettes" was inspired by his "wanderings in Brooklyn and remembrances," says the Brooklyn Eagle, which covered an event dedicated to Brooklyn arts leader Tom Kane--to whom the book is also dedicated.
The Eagle says the new book has a wide range of inspiration:
Vigorito’s longtime mentor was Brooklyn Poet Laureate Ken Siegelman, who died in 2009 at age 63. “He inspired and encouraged me, stroking the muse within myself to paint by words the scenes and times of Brooklyn,” said Vigorito.
“Art and music have made a deep impact on my life and my new book of poems, with specific reference to artists and musicians and their works, honors and celebrates them,” said Vigorito.
You can read some of his Brooklyn-based poetry on Borough President Marty Markowitz' website.
