Argyle Yarn Shop Coming to Prospect Park West This Fall
Argyle Yarn Shop Coming to Prospect Park West This Fall
Just in time for fall, a local husband and wife team is preparing to open a new yarn store in the neighborhood. Esther and David Betten are working on the Argyle Yarn Shop, located at 288 Prospect Park West near 18th Street, which will be opening in the next few months.
They tell us they'll be offering a wide range of yarns to suit every taste and budget. The store will also provide supplies for crafters who knit or crochet, including needles and hooks, crafting books and magazines, and the latest patterns.
Don't know how to knit or crochet, but want to learn? Along with offering scheduled classes for all levels of experience, they will also be hosting weekly meet-ups for a more casual opportunity to sit down with other neighbors who share an enthusiasm for crafting.
But it won't be just yarn. Coming next spring, Argyle Yarn Shop will offer a full line of modern fabrics, sewing supplies, and notions.
"Sewers will have a spacious, sunlit room to themselves after an expansion of the storefront," David said. "After that, we look forward to branching out into whichever crafts would best suit the needs of the neighborhood, whether that’s embroidery, or cross-stitch, or children’s craft supplies with summer programs for the kids."
Esther and David seem open to ideas, so be sure to tell them if you've got any favorite yarns you'd like to see in stock, classes you'd be interested in taking, etc.
"We live right here in the neighborhood and are delighted to get a chance to meet more of our neighbors," David said. "Please stop by and see us when we open later this fall."
