Roadify, out of Park Slope, launched BusesAroundMe - a free text service that provides bus riders with free and easily-accessible bus arrival times - on the B67 line a couple of weeks back. BAM provides users with both, MTA schedule times and estimated arrival times, based on the location of the bus reported by people along the bus route. If it actually works as promised, this could be great for folks along McDonald. Anyone tried it?
As with Roadify’s other service ParkingAroundMe, these adjusted times are “community-powered.” In other words, adjusted times are only available if the community takes a few seconds to GIVE to each other.
What does this mean for you? No more waiting around in the cold looking for the bus. Now you know if you have time to grab that cup of coffee. We’re starting our beta testing with the B67 route in Park Slope. As it is our first route, we ask for your patience but also your input to help improve our service. Soon we will be adding new routes so check back to see if your route is up!
