Basquiat Documentary Screening at Green-Wood This Saturday

Ready for an interesting Saturday? How about watching a movie about Jean-Michel Basquiat, then enjoying wine and cheese with people who knew him, before taking a visit to his grave. That's all happening this Saturday, November 5 at 1pm as the Green-Wood Historic Fund hosts a special screening of the film The Radiant Child.

Basquiat, an artist and Brooklynite, is interred at Green-Wood and his gravestone is one of the most visited sites at the Cemetery. The film screening will be followed by wine and cheese; a question and answer session with Suzanne Mallouk, artist, psychiatrist, and Basquiat’s former girlfriend; and Michael Harmon, co-founder of Basquiat’s 1980s industrial noise band, Gray; and a visit to Basquiat’s grave. The screening will take place in Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel.

Admission is $25 per person for Green-Wood Historic Fund members and $35 for non-members. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. To make a reservation or to find out more information, visit the website or call 718-210-3080.
