Church Avenue Street Fairs

Church Avenue Street Fairs

A couple of notes on Church Avenue Street Fairs from KARMABrooklyn.

First is that the twice-a-year fair on Church between McDonald Ave and Ocean Parkway won't be happening. When Michael Hyatt, the man who's been running the fair for the past few years, applied for a permit this year, the city treated it as a new fair, and since it isn't granting permits to new fairs because of budgetary reasons, this fair won't happen. Sad news indeed to those in need of tube socks and fried dough.

For those who might want something a little more interesting from their street fairs, the Church Avenue Business Improvement District and the 70th Precinct Community Council are planning a fair for Church Avenue on the other side of Coney Island Avenue, between E. 10th Street and Argyle Road on Sunday, May 1.

They're looking for local businesses and artisans to participate! If you're interested, contact Lauren Elvers Collins, Executive Director of the Church Avenue BID, at laurenc@churchavenue.org or (718) 282-2500 x234.
