Church Avenue to be repaved!

Church Avenue to be repaved!

Jessica Turner from our councilmember Brad Lander's office sends word that

The Department of Transportation has placed the intersection of Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue under its active Resurfacing Project K2009-12-03 and will repave Church Avenue from Old New Utrecht Avenue to Coney Island Avenue, including McDonald & Church, this summer. The project is part of the Department’s Spring 2010 Night Resurfacing Program.

Councilmember Lander had heard from a number of people about the condition of the intersection and wrote to DOT Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Palmieri to request a repaving. This is very exciting news. Along with the reinforced curbs, and new trees, Church is getting quite a bit of attention. Lander's office is also looking into ways to reclaim more pedestrian space at the intersection of McDonald and Church.
