Get out your dancing shoes, because there's about to be a lot more space to cut a rug in Windsor Terrace.
Cynthia King Dance Studio, now in its tenth year at its current location, is expanding into the adjacent space on Prospect Avenue. The expanded studio should be complete in just a few weeks, and there will be a opening bash to celebrate once it's all done.
The studio is taking over the space from Allstate next door (agent Steven Schneider has moved his office to 9th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues). The space will provide an additional 1,000-square-feet for a new sunny dance studio, spacious dressing rooms for dancers, more office space, and a costume room.
More space means more classes, and Cynthia tells us a highlight will be ones that adults can take while their children are in class, "a request by parents that I've heard for a long time," she says.
In addition to the expanded adult schedule--with ballet, tap, African dance, modern, dance fusion, and more--the space will allow for more events and rehearsals.
