There was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake at about 2pm, and the center was around Virginia. People up and down the East Coast felt it.
I'm hearing mixed reports from people in Brooklyn about whether or not they felt anything--I didn't. And of course, Twitter is going crazy with updates.
Some people are reporting that their mobile phones aren't working, though I have been getting text messages.
Were you guys shaking in the neighborhood? And do you think, as the professionals at the U.S. Geological Survey (now to be known as nightmare-makers) said to the Washington Post, that the worst could be yet to come?
