Hosted by New York University's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program, the 3rd Annual NYU DPT 5k Walk/Run for Physical Therapy Research will be held in Prospect Park March 9, 2013. As future physical therapists and current students, we welcome your support. Whether an experienced athlete, first timer, teenager or senior citizen, get ready to lace up your running/walking shoes for physical therapy research!
Funds will benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research, with a small portion contributing to the graduation ceremony for the class of 2013. The Foundation is an independent non-profit organization, one that is especially important to all us current and future PTs because it is the Foundation's work that allows us as clinicians to provide the best possible care to those who need us most. The program's funding has helped support groundbreaking research, providing evidence for physical therapy's crucial role in stroke rehabilitation, improving mobility in children with cerebral palsy and offering pain free movement in individuals with low back pain.
Registration includes a free t-shirt, gifts from sponsors and admittance to the race after-party at Tribeca gastropub, Manhattan Proper. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers; additional prizes will be raffled at the after-party.
