Community Board 12 will hold its final meeting before its 2.5 month summer recess tomorrow night at 7. There is also a light summer at 6. The meeting is on the 3rd floor of the Amico Senior Center, 5901 13th Avenue at 59th Street in Boro Park.
Thirteen new members to CB 12 will be sworn in, including two from Kensington: Annie Ferdous and Mamnunul Haq. Ms. Ferdous was a Kensington World's Fair organizer and co-founder of the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts.
Mr. Haq is a founding member of the NY Taxi Workers' Alliance and currently serves as a community health worker for the Dream Project, part of NYU's Center for the Study of Asian-American Health at the NYU Langone Medical Center.
Highlights of tomorrow's agenda will include a public session, the chairman's "report," "remarks" by the district manager, presentations by the NYC Dept. of Transportation and also one by the CB 12 Zoning Committee on a proposed Eighth Avenue rezoning, and old and new business. It could be lively, so come.
