Former Employee Sues Terrace Bagels

Michael Bergamaschi, a former employee of Terrace Bagels, is suing the shop for $31,000, claiming they took money from the paychecks of him and other workers to pay Health Department fines. The Daily News reports that part of the amount Bergamaschi is seeking is also for back-pay, because he claims he wasn't paid overtime.

A lawyer for the shop tells the News that the accusations are false, but that they're looking into it.

Terrace Bagels was closed by the DOH in 2009 because of a vermin infestation; at their most recent inspection in September, the store earned a B grade, with violations that included evidence of mice.
