Greenmarket Update

Need a distraction from all the earthquake chatter? Why not draw up a shopping list for tomorrow's Greenmarket?

We've had a lot of rain in the past couple of weeks, which makes for difficult picking on farms. Even so, expect some of the best variety of fruits and vegetables at this week's Windsor Terrace Greenmarket, since we're at the pinnacle of the growing season.

You'll see nearly all of the product that J. Glebocki Farm grows at their stall this week--including green beans, which make their return. Their veggie of the week is the sweet and earthy beet, and besides providing a recipe for a crisp beet slaw, they remind us that beet greens are edible, delicious, and that they contain even more nutrients than the beet root.

Additionally, stop by the information tent to see what delicious things Market Manager Heather Rubi will be cooking up from 10-11am, while the regular group of musicians plays alongside from 10am-1pm.

And as always, stop by Bread Alone for artisan bread, Williams Fruit Farm for a large variety of produce, and American Seafood for fish. EBT/Food Stamps/Debit/Credit (8am-1pm), and WIC and FMNP checks are accepted at the information tent.
