ICNA to Provide Free School Supplies This Sunday
This Sunday ICNA Relief, a division of The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a NY-based national organization, plans to give out 500 free school bags with school supplies to the community.
This initiative is part of ICNA’s national Back 2 School Giveaway Project, which is hosting over 30 similar events across the U.S. These efforts hope to help over 15,000 children nationwide.
Everyone is welcome, but they ask that the child/children be present to pick up their bag. Due to limited supplies, parents will only receive bags for each child that is with them on that day.
The giveaway will be held outside on Coney Island Avenue, in front of the future ICNA Community Center. That project, we're told, is going well--they're continually raising funds for it, and are planning to get an architect's designs soon.
