I lived there—just north of Canal at Sixth Avenue; worked there (at Broadway below Wall Street), and was walking up Broadway in full view of the towers in 1993 at the first bombing. The Twin Towers were the southern marker of my neighborhood. Standing on West Broadway, if you looked south, there they were. To the north was the Empire State Building.
At last, symmetry restored.
