Neighbors have been complaining about the disastrous state of the sidewalk on Kermit Place just off Coney -- you can't get a stroller down it -- for quite a while now, and NY1's segment on it finally got some results, as commenter "Robinwojo" noted a while ago.
NY1 reports today:
But this sidewalk is in front of an abandoned lot and NY1 was unable to reach the owner of record.
The DOT said it would at least relocate the parking sign, much to neighbors delight.
Also after our story aired a man claiming to be the owner of the property sent a cleaning crew to pick up the sidewalk....
After the clean up, a "For Rent" sign was placed on the abandoned property.
Sources say the property is currently in litigation and they'll tell us whether the sidewalk will be repaved or not once that process is complete.
