Kids Get Library Fines Waived This Month

Kids Get Library Fines Waived This Month

Know a kid who already has mounting debt...at the library? Now they have a chance at amnesty!

Until October 31, children and teens who have fines on their library cards, long overdue material, or lost material can go to the customer service desk of any branch of the Brooklyn Public Library to ask for the fines to be waived. If you've still got the book, be sure to bring it back when you go to ask forgiveness.

Details from the BPL:

How can I get my overdue fines waived?
We will waive all fines for children and teens who visit Brooklyn Public Library and ask for amnesty. In order to complete the process, you must borrow at least one item.

Fines cannot be waived if overdue materials are left in internal or external book drops.

How soon will my overdue fines be cleared?
Your overdue fines will be cleared from your record as soon as the request for amnesty is made at the customer service desk.
