The sparsely decorated Charlie Brown model standing in the lot by Piccoli on Prospect Park Southwest, spotted by neighbor Tom Prendergast, might be the last Christmas tree still standing in the neighborhood, following this weekend's successful Mulchfest. On Saturday and Sunday at 70 locations across the city, the Parks Department recycled a record-setting 24,231 trees.
If you still have your [real] tree up, you can still leave it, cleaned of all ornaments and unbagged, on the curb to be recycled by Sanitation through January 14.
