Le Paddock to Open in September

A couple months ago, Sylvie Bertrand was testing the waters of Windsor Terrace to see if we'd be open to a new, French-inspired restaurant. Seems she and her partner Gregory Tetaud are diving in with Le Paddock, which is scheduled to open in the fall:

We are excited to announce a new venture coming to Windsor Terrace this September: a wine bar with a French twist called LE PADDOCK, at 1235 Prospect Avenue, corner of Reeve Place, right across the F/G Fort-Hamilton subway exit. What we (we = myself and Kensington resident Gregory Tetaud) are hoping to offer the community with LE PADDOCK is a casual place where neighbors can meet and hang out while enjoying good wines by the glass, wood-burning pizza such as Pissaladiere and Flammenkuche, cheeses and charcuteries platters, mussels, a great burger, and other small plates and specials dishes made with seasonal and local products. There will also be a raw oyster bar on some evenings! We will be open for dinner 7 nights a week and serve brunches on weekends.

1235 Prospect Avenue is currently the home of Bistro on the Park, which hasn't had the best reviews as of late. According to real estate records, the 1,169-square-foot-plus-basement space (which has room for 50 people and comes with the brick pizza oven) was put on the market in February, with a price drop in April, and now it's in contract. Hopefully Le Paddock has better luck in the spot--I for one can't wait to try some mussels and wine in the new place!
