Local Family Postpones Tokyo Move

Today the Daily News speaks with another local family whose life has been disrupted by the disastrous events in Japan. Carl and Maki Langan already sold their Windsor Terrace home and packed their things for a long-planned move to Tokyo next Wednesday. Following the earthquake, the couple decided to put the move on hold, because they don't want to put their two young sons in an unstable situation. Friends and family in both countries are worried for them:

Langan's wife, Maki, 37, is Japanese. Her family was not hurt in the quake, but they are anxious about their futures.

And the couple's family in the United States is concerned, too.

"We were very excited about the move, and have been visiting family here saying our goodbyes," Carl Langan said. "Now they are calling us, saying, 'Please don't go.'"

They're still looking for info regarding sublets, short-term options, or month-to-month rentals in Windsor Terrace, so their boys can remain in their current schools. If anyone knows of a place, let us know and we'll put you in contact with the family.
