Last night I was speaking to someone about Brancaccio's roast chicken, and she said something crazy like, "I don't usually buy something that I would make myself." While I completely understand the logic, it's a silly argument when you remember the price: at $6, I'm happy to save myself the time. And it certainly doesn't hurt that the chicken tastes great.
As they say on Real Cheap Eats NYC today, "it’s just the kind of chicken dinner you’d put on the table if you had the time."
Is there anything else like that in the neighborhood? Food that you could make for yourself, but you find you're much happier having someone else make it for you?
