If you've got $850,000 and a dream, please buy the Lonelyville building!
This weekend, neighbor Matt noticed some activity at the former coffee shop-turned-mysterious antiques shop that never seemed to be open, and he sent us this photo.
It turns out that the owners--who seem to still be the women who opened the much-loved Lonelyville--are moving some of their antiques out of the space to get it ready for potential new owners.
The three-story building, located at 154 Prospect Park Southwest, was put on the market after the coffee shop closed in 2008, and was listed for $1.25M at the time. According to public records, it never sold. As of six weeks ago, the listing is exclusively in the hands of agents at CPEX Real Estate, who tell us they've had "an incredible amount of interest in this property from local business owners, investors, and owner users."
For $850k, I'm not surprised--that seems like a fairly accurate price for the size and location. The total square footage for the building is 2,400, which includes the basement and commercial space (and backyard with a deck), plus two one-bedroom/one-bathroom apartments with working fireplaces, which are both currently occupied. See this downloadble setup sheet for the details, and if you're interested, contact Scott Burk of CPEX at 718-687-4224 or sburk@cpexre.com.
What would you like to see most in that space? I'd be happy to have some good coffee back--what a perfect spot to stop at after a walk through Prospect Park on a cold day.
