Music With Miss Katie

Registration is now open for the fall session of Miss Katie's "Rockin Robins" music and movement classes for children ages 8 months to 5 years.

Classes run on Fridays from October 14 through December 9 at 9:30am and 10:30am at Terrace Dance Studio (273 PPW at 17th St). The free make-up classes are on Friday, December 16.

Rockin Robbins class description:

This 45-minute music and movement class is designed for young children, (for babies and children through age 5) to explore and discover their innate musicality together with their parents and caregivers. Children have the chance to make sounds and motions in unison, but also to learn about their own unique musicality. Finger plays, marching songs, and call and response songs provide opportunities to make music in “ensemble,” while other activities, such as, “Follow their beat” give children a turn to lead with their own tempo and voice. Using their bodies as instruments, as well as various other musical instruments, the children experience how their imaginative ideas can influence the music we make together.
