Delicious, small crunchy cookies, rich with butter, and capped by a dusting of almonds, pistachios or coconut are yours to purchase at Narala Bakery on Coney Island Avenue, north of Cortelyou, for $6/pound. There are also sweet breads, rolls, and cakes to explore on future visits.
The 70-year-old owner, Mohammed, and his daughter, have run this local outpost of the family’s bakery for the last 10 years. The original is still in business in Lahore, Pakistan, where his father and brothers continue the bakery the father started 70 years ago.
