Neighbor Killed

Neighbor Jake McDonaugh, 18, was killed by a reckless van driver on Flatbush avenue yesterday morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

From another neighbor:  "He was a red head with glasses.  He was an art student.  He sold his work sometimes in Soho (legally).  He got into the Art Institute of Chicago but couldn't afford to go, so was at Brooklyn College.  He was an only child.  His mother is a professor in the psych department--studies children--at Brooklyn College.  His parents are good friends of ours, and I am devastated."
