"Bloody Windsor Terrace" sounds like something you'd shout because the Key Food overcharged you for a bunch of grapes, but this month, it's the name of a little neighborhood cocktail I concocted.
There are no precise measurements, but the ingredients are key. A simple riff on a traditional Bloody Mary, you'll need one or two heirloom tomatoes and a bunch of celery from the Greenmarket--if the hurricane didn't spoil them, both should be available at today's market, and there's no substitute for the ones fresh from the farm. Pick up a bottle of Tito's Handmade Vodka, a clean and affordable alcohol made in Texas, from Juice Box. Finally, grab a bottle of your favorite hot sauce from any deli in the neighborhood.
Cut up the tomatoes and strain the liquid from them (use the leftover diced tomatoes to make a quick pasta sauce). Pour the liquid in a glass filled with ice, add some vodka and a dash of hot sauce, and stir with a celery stalk. Simple, summery, and pretty local!
