I was walking down Windsor Place the other day and noticed some work going on inside the vacant storefront between 10th and 11th Aves that (I think) used to be a beauty salon. I ended up chatting with the new tenant and found out a new cafe is coming to the spot. She said it is going to have your basic cafe fare -- soups and sandwiches -- but that they'd also have a rotating menu of dinner options.
Even though that block on Windsor is particularly residential, it does seem to get a lot of foot traffic. Anyone getting out at the Windsor Place exit of the 15th St subway stop will likely walk by, so it's convenient for people looking to pick up dinner on their way home.
The owner said they had "a lot of work to do" so it doesn't seem like they'll be opening very soon. We'll keep you posted.
