NYPD Cricket/Soccer Kick-Off Party

In case you aren't up on cricket or the local teams, the NYPD was and is. About 25-30 kids from this area play for LYCANS, which won the 2009 NYPD Cricket League championship. According to The Daily News, LYCANS is "a squad of players from FDR HS, Lincoln HS and Brooklyn's Kensington neighborhood."

Many also belong to the American Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (AYSAB), which sponsors soccer and basketball games, too. LYCANS will play its first game of the season against Red Storm on Wed., June 29th.  AYSAB's basketball players practice at DOME PLAYGROUND and the hardcore players live right across the street.
