Playground of Sound

The new session of Playground of Sound - a music exploration class for children under 5 - starts on April 3rd.

Michael Harren invites everyone to join in the music making - "Playground of Sound is centered on learning and doing, offering moms and dads an opportunity to connect with their kids in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Everyone in class is encouraged to jump, crawl, dance and play. Instead of just teaching kids how to be good consumers of music, Playground of Sound gives them the tools and space to create their own."

Classes will be held at Rory's Room on Fort Hamilton Parkway starting on April 3rd, each Saturday at 10:15 until June 5th. Tuition for ten weekly forty-five minute classes is $200.00 ($180.00 if you register before March 27) and includes The Pony Collection book and CD. Siblings receive a $30.00 discount. Ask about special rate for twins and financial assistance is available on request.

Playground of Sound utilizes Rob Sayer’s renowned “The Music Class” curriculum. Classes are designed to introduce your child to a wide variety of musical tonalities, rhythms, styles and textures during the crucial 0-5 developmental stage. The music itself is distinctly sophisticated, including blues, folk, and world rhythms, and parents and children interact with kid-friendly instruments and props such as egg shakers, rhythm sticks, scarves, and bells.
