Project LeafDrop

Project LeafDrop

Here's another challenge for the wider neighborhoods - let's turn the falling leaves into compost! All you need to do is bring your to the following spots either this or next weekend: Project LeafDrop.

Prospect Farm: Prospect Avenue, under Seeley St. Bridge. Accepting leaves 11 AM - 3 PM on Saturdays, Nov. 6th, 13th and 20th and on Sundays, Nov. 7th, 14th and 21st.

East 4th Street Community Garden: to be announced.

Compost for Brooklyn: on Newkirk and E8th. Accepting leaves from 3-6 PM on Sundays: Nov. 7, Nov. 14, Nov. 21

Project LeafDrop is a volunteer-run coalition of Brooklyn residents and organizations that collects residential leaves and uses them as compost. Rather than the leaves uselessly wasting away in a landfill, the project takes advantage of the opportunity to create compost to fertilize local community gardens.
