The New York City Department of Education made public on Sunday a list that estimates the number of teachers each school will lose to layoffs if the state does not allocate more money for schools and seniority rules are not changed.
Here is how it looks for our schools in District 20:
P.S. 179: of 67 teachers, 3 to be laid off, or 4% of total.
J.H.S. 62 Ditmas: of 95 teachers, 3 to be laid off, or 3% of total.
J.H.S. 223 The Montauk: of 53 teachers, 2 to be laid off, or 4% of total.
In District 15:
P.S. 230 Doris L. Cohen: of 93 teachers, 7 to be laid off, or 8% of total.
P.S. 130 The Parkside: of 40 teachers, 1 to be laid off, or 3% of total.
In District 22:
P.S. 217: of 92 teachers, 8 to be laid off, or 9% of total.
P.S. K134: of 40 teachers, 15 to be laid off, or 38% of total.
