PS 230's Garbage: Roasting in the Noonday Sun

PS 230 puts out its recyclables (milk cartons, used food containers, all unwashed) Friday afternoon.  As of today. Monday, at 3:30 p.m., it still hasn't been picked up.  I filed a complaint last fall, but learned the NYC Board of Ed is exempt  from all the garbage storage requirements by which a commercial establishment must abide.  So every weekend throughout the school year, the school's garbage lays about the sidewalk in transparent plastic bags, thumbing its nose at the neighbors, with nary a trash container or garbage truck in sight. The same garbage motif repeats at the PS 230 annex on McDonald Avenue, but on a smaller scale.
