Something I've been meaning to try for a long time but just haven't gotten around to is Quesos Mexico on Fort Hamilton Parkway near East 4th St. As part of a Cinco de Mayo series, the Village Voice profiles the queserilla, and says the cheeses that are made in the back live up to expectations.
I'm a big fan of Oaxaca cheese, the salty, melty, mozzarella-like ball that is great for quesadillas, chiles rellenos, or even just for nibbling. At Quesos Mexico it's $4 for a 14 ounce ball. If you're preparing a feast for Thursday, stop by there for your cheese and let us know what you think!
