A neighbor reports:
This morning [May 15] 3 cars were broken into---at around 10:30-10:45 a.m. (yes, in broad daylight).
One on E 5 and Caton Ave. the other two on Caton Ave. Wed. morning, another car was broken into on East 5. We actually witnessed it this morning, but, the thug got away--with just about nothing. Unfortunately, the cost of the broken window and the emotional toll is enough to warrant a warning to the neighborhood.
The police say if you see someone breaking into a car....just quietly call 911 and report it with as many details as possible. The idea is to let the thief work as slow as possible and not alert him that anyone is looking--obviously giving the police a chance to catch him off guard.
