Rep. Brennan to Speak Thurs. 4/28

Meanwhile, Rep. Brennan has done a flip-flop on the Prospect Park West Bike Lane. He was for it, before he was against it. (See Streetsblog story.) Now he's talking about a single lane, or none.

A single lane is an accident waiting to happen.  Already there are kids wandering in these lanes, and 2-way bike traffic in a narrow lane means you can never relax.  One major benefit of a bike lane is to allow cyclists to ride without constant fear of being sideswiped, doored, crushed between a car and a bus or another parked car, or running into another bike, runner, or loose child popping up in your lane.  I hope he'll reconsider.
