Schmitty the Weather Dog will be giving pawtographs to fans of her new book, Schmitty the Weather Dog: Daydream at Boulevard Books & Cafe from 11 am to 1 pm on Dec. 7
The Yorkshire Terrier will be dressed fashionably and will be accompanied by her owners, author Elly McGuire and meteorologist Ron Trotta. The event costs $18 and includes a copy of the book.
In Schmitty the Weather Dog: Daydream, the charming canine overcomes obstacles to help her two-legged dad pursue his dream of being a meteorologist - a story influenced by real life. Just like the main human in the book, Trotta became a meteorologist and eventually brought Schmitty with him for weather forecasts and he was more accurate when she "pawcast" the weather with him.
"She shows us that no atter what your size or breed, you can do anything you put your mind to and that you are only limited by your imagination," said McGuire, adding that she hopes the book promotes a love of science among children.
In addition to her regular online pawcasts, Schmitty is an active supporter of various charities including the annual New Yorkie Runway Celebrity Doggie Fashion Show that raises money for the Angel On A Leash Foundation. Also, a portion of the proceeds from her book, Schmitty the Weather Dog: Daydream will be donated to pet charities.
