Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested, But Might Not Be The Same Guy

A 22-year old man has been arrested and charged with assault, sex abuse, and forcible touching after attacking three women, but he does not match the descriptions of the men sought in the string of sexual attacks in the neighborhood.

Police say Federico Chamorro Yax attacked two women who were walking together on Sunday night around 56th Street. The women fought him off, and one scratched him before he ran away.

Investigators were able to connect him to another attack in Sunset Park on September 4, when a woman on 65th Street was groped early in the morning.

Still, there were many attacks, and Yax doesn't match the descriptions of the other suspects. WPIX notes he is under 5 feet tall, which the other suspects are not, and Fox reports that the police do not believe he is responsible for the other attacks.
