Stories and Squirts Tomorrow at Greenwood Playground

It's going to be another hot day tomorrow, but that's good news for aspiring young writers. Jenn Nails' fun "Stories and Squirts" writing program for kids age 8 and older starts at 10am, and those who participate will find it's a very "cool" program. The New York Times explains:

“I had to think of some way to attract people to the park in the sun,” said Ms. Nails, below, a children’s novelist and Brooklyn resident who had been asked by the group Friends of Greenwood Playground to lead an outdoor workshop. “And my son is 3, and he just got his first water gun.”

Thus was born “Stories and Squirts!,” a workshop for children 8 and older.... She will draw her Super Soaker and squirt guns too, since she promises to shoot participants during breaks every 15 minutes. “I like the idea of combining writing with something physical,” she said.

If your child is more interested in a dry art, this Sunday, July 31, Dari of KWT Craftwork is holding a lanyard crafts day at 11am for kids age 6 and up. Meet at the chess tables!
