Some updates from Compost for Brooklyn, the community composting project and garden located at Newkirk Ave and East 8th St:
Street Tree Care and Compost Workday
Saturday, April 9
10 AM to 2 PM
Join Compost for Brooklyn and TimeBanksNYC to care for our neighborhood street trees and turn our compost heaps. We'll aerate the soil, spread compost, and paint signs to show how much we care for our urban trees.
Also, please note that beginning Monday, April 11, the hours for compost drop-off will change to:
THURSDAYS: 5:00 – 7:00 PM
SATURDAYS: 10:00 – 12:00 AM
SUNDAYS: 2:00 – 5:00 PM
