Systems Two Recording Studio

Sweet music is being made right around the corner in Kensington at Systems Two Recording Studio. They work mostly with jazz musicians, including the experimental saxophonist Darius Jones, who was recently profiled in the Wall Street Journal. Furthermore, engineer Rich Lamb recently picked it as one of his favorite studios in the city. With its mom-and-pop vibe, Steinway piano from Carnegie Hall, and a mic that used to be John Coltrane's, Lamb told Sonic Scoop that he'd make the long commute anytime because it's such a nice space:

Nice big room with a short reverb which works for just about everything. Their main bread and butter comes from being a top-notch, word-of-mouth jazz studio, even though they sometimes do everything else, including orchestral, choral, metal, etc. Their discography is staggering.

If you're in a band that's looking for a recording studio, there's no need to hike out of the neighborhood--you've got one of the best right here.
