The Early Word: Bartel-Pritchard Square Greenmarket to Open Next Week

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1.The Bartel-Pritchard Square Greenmarket—held in none other than Bartel-Pritchard Square—will be open for the season starting next Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Formerly the Windsor Terrace Greenmarket, we have to wonder whether this is another of for its ever-increasing historic district. (Just kidding, Park Slope...right?)

2. The 70th Precinct Community Council and the Church Avenue Business Improvement District will be holding the 2nd annual Church Avenue Street Fair this Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. There will be something for everyone, from adults to kids to animals, so be sure to swing by Church Avenue from Argyle Road to East 10th Street to check it out. 

3. New York Communities for Change will be holding day five of its Golden Farm Week of Action this afternoon, this time to rally for paid sick leave for workers. Councilman Brad Lander, D-Park Slope, will be in attendance, along with representatives from the New York City Paid Sick Days Campaign. The rally will be held at 12:30 p.m. outside of .
