Who cares if the subway isn't running? This is a great weekend to spend in the area, and here's why:
* Nanny Goat Hill Wine Bar at Crossroads opened on Wednesday and it was such a hit, they promptly ran out of most things! They were closed last night, but will be back up tonight. Check it out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5-11pm.
* Welcome another new venture to Prospect Ave on Sunday at the Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace Open House from 11am-1pm.
* Put on your walking shoes for the Prospect Park Walk-a-Thon on Sunday morning, and help the park raise money it desperately needs following Hurricane Irene.
* After you've walked the 5K loop, you'll deserve a snack. The Food Truck Rally at Grand Army Plaza is back on Sunday from 11am-5pm.
* Two community gardens are having events: Support the 6/15 Green garden at their stoop sale fundraiser on Saturday, then help plant lettuce at Prospect Farm on Sunday.
* If you live on the south end of the neighborhood, you probably do some shopping on Church Ave. Help beautify the street by planting daffodils on Sunday morning.
