Saturday, May 14
* Help out Green-Wood Cemetery as they prepare for the celebration of the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War (Memorial Day weekend). They need volunteers to place candles on the graves of our Civil War veterans, starting at 9am. Register here.

* Learn how to remediate soil and make it better for plants by digging and sifting soil for trench composting at Prospect Farm, 10am-3pm.

Sunday, May 15
* Native Plant Identification Workshop at Compost for Brooklyn, 10am.

* Self-guided walking tour of neighborhood gardens as part of NYC Wildflower Week. Includes the garden at Compost for Brooklyn and the home garden of Chris Kreussling, aka Flatbush Gardener. Runs from 12-3pm, RSVP here.

* Learn how to make Salmon in Yogurt sauce, Baigan Bharta (smoked eggplant with onion, cilantro etc), and Lemon Rice while Cooking with Mukti, 2:30pm.

* Carnival on East 5th Street, 2:30-5:30pm.
