It's been a heck of a week for the circle known as a square. First, the former Circles/Windsor Chophouse is getting closer to finally opening as a restaurant again, and now we have new trees where there had been empty patches of dirt for some time. Neighbor Tom Prendergast sent in these photos of the three young trees from a couple angles.
Planting more trees had been one of the top recommendations during initial meetings for Councilmember Brad Lander's Participatory Budgeting plan. Much like the flooding at the Fort Hamilton Parkway subway station, it's nice to see items like this being tackled in some way before we devote some of that budget to them. Thanks to the city for planting them--and we're happy to accept more anytime.
