What’s happening this week with safety in the neighborhood:
* Another attack occurred just before 8pm last night on 36th Street between 4th and 5th Aves. A man groped a woman who had just exited the subway, and then he ran. Police do not believe this is a part of the same pattern as the previous 12 attacks.
* Safe Slope and Hollaback!, convened by New York City Councilmember Brad Lander, met with the 72nd and 78th Precincts last week, and the police agreed to several terms that had been addressed earlier in an open letter. Items include making women aware that they are being escorted home by the police and providing ample warning before showing the public graphic assault videos.

* Consider volunteering for K9WaTch, to escort people home from the subway while you're out walking your dog. And don't forget that Safe Walk are available Thursday-Saturday nights, RightRides are available Friday and Saturday nights, and Brooklyn Bike Patrol is available every night of the week.
