Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you can't explore the grounds at Green-Wood Cemetery. You're welcome to wander on your own, but hopping on a trolley for one of three tours is a great option if you'd like to learn some of the secrets that the landmarked cemetery holds.
Tour A takes you to some of the more well-known resting places, like that of Boss Tweed and the Civil War Soldiers Lot; Tour B leads you down the perimeter roads and tells the tragic story behind the Azrael the Angel of Death sculpture; and Tour C brings you to hidden gems such as the graves of Rex the dog and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The tours run on Wednesdays and Sundays at 1pm. They meet inside the main entrance at 25th Street and 5th Avenue, and cost $10 for members of The Green-Wood Historic Fund, $15 for non-members, and reservations are recommended.
