Several weeks ago Officer David Shum, Kensington's beat cop, was reassigned to the 66th Precinct's Anti-Crime unit. A replacement for Officer Shum should be named within the next week, a spokesman from the 66th said. In a phone call, Officer Shum repeated how much he had enjoyed his Kensington duty.
About the Kletzky murder: Two days ago the precinct finished up its work at the Levi Aron crime scene on E. 2nd, the 66th Precinct spokesman said. It was able to do so without having to reduce staffing overly in other areas. "It didn't shorten us too much," he said. Meanwhile there have been "lots of thanks yous from the community" for the 66's work on this case, although "we feel bad about the outcome," he said, adding: "Empty."
