Work to Start at 22 Caton Place?

The wildly overgrown lot at 22 Caton Place might finally be mowed for a long-delayed construction project, according to DOB permits that Brownstoner noticed:

Hudson Companies (of Third + Bond fame) bought the land earlier this year, and DOB permits that were just filed indicate that the firm intends to build a 73-unit development.

The property is zoned as R7B, which limits the maximum building height to 75 feet and requires parking for a minimum of 50% of the dwelling units. Despite this project having 15 more units than the previous plans, according to the permits it will still be within the zoning limits.

What do you think? Looking forward to bidding farewell to the wilderness of the lot and welcoming new residents? Or do you worry that the neighborhood can't bear that kind of growth at the moment, when parking is scarce and schools are more and more difficult to get into?

Of all the possibilities, it's most worrying that it will just become a mirror of the failed construction across the street at 23 Caton Place, which still remains dead in the water.
