Among the 9 police officers and a civilian honored Monday, May 9th by Mayor Bloomberg for their rescue and recovery service after Sept 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center was Police Officer Frank M. Bolusi, 49, formerly an officer at the 66th Precinct. Officer Bolusi, like all the those saluted this week, died of WTC-related illnesses developed later. He served the NYPD for 17 years and died January, 2010 in Staten Island, where he lived. He enjoyed hunting at his upstate home. His name was added to a memorial plaque in the "Hall of Heroes" inside NYPD Headquarters, at 1 Police Plaza. (See full NYPD release.)
